2011 NJ Bike & Walk Summit - a huge success!!!

John Pucher, a professor in urban planning and policy development at Rutgers University and the keynote speaker, spoke about the health, safety and obesity of the US cyclist/walker. he pointed out how far behind the US is from Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands in providing safe cycling and pedestrian safety and access.
Peter Bilton, previously a member of the Alan M. Voorhees transportation center at Rutger's and now at the Civic Eye Collaborative, spoke about making bike riders happy people and how to do so!
Kendra Arnold of Morristown Critical Mass, regaled the crowd with stories of her first critical mass ride in Morristown, now in its fifth year!
Laura Torchio inspired all when she spoke about WalkBike Montclair and how successful the group has become and why. Their Tour de Montclair is on May 15th this year and info can be found on our calendar
After all was said and done, a great day was had by all, followed by a tour of Trenton by bike and foot.
