ANOTHER CYCLIST KILLED ON NEW JERSEY ROADS

Just last week, NJBC sent a letter to the editor of the Bergen Record, asking "Where is Camille's Law?", noting that while New York State is moving well along the path of creating a three-foot safe passing law, called "Merrill's Law", New Jersey's version of the same legislation is stuck in committee. A copy of the letter and our position is here.

Save the Date!

NJBC will hold Bike Summit 2011 on Saturday, February 26, 2011, in Trenton, NJ. More details will be coming soon but next year's summit will build upon the Summit held in Denville this past February. You won't want to miss it!

Why You Need To Join NJBC Now!

NJBC has received a $25,000 grant from the Alliance for Biking and Walking, thanks to funding by SRAM, Bikes Belong, and Planet Bike. The catch is that this is a matching grant. We must raise $25,000 of our own to get the $25,000 grant. If you haven't joined NJBC yet, now is the time to do it. Not only do you lend your strength to our growing voice in New Jersey, your membership dollars count double. Sign up today! Membership renewals also count, so when you get the e-mail from us that your membership is due for renewal, please stay with us!

Mouseover the image above to see our Greetings from New Jersey Cycling jersey! The theme and the colors are awesome! Jersey beaches, lighthouses, farms, GW bridge and other major landmarks. Based on a 40's design - a real vintage collectible! All of the net proceeds go to the NJ Bicycle Coalition, a non-profit bicycle advocacy organization, working to make NJ a safe place to bike, walk and jog for everyone.

You can order the jersey or technical t-shirt here. You can also buy the jersey at Marty's Reliable and Cycle Craft. Please support cycling advocacy in NJ. Our jersey will be one you never leave behind and will be proud to wear, whether you are from New Jersey or any other state in the USA.

Route 17 Bottleneck Project

NJBC member Stephen Mosca attended a public meeting about the Route 17 Bottleneck (the portion that runs south of the new Route 4 interchange to the new Essex Street Bridge. This is a project that NJBC will be following closely.
